Transcript [00:00] Hey everyone, this update is going to [00:02] focus on what is happening with the [00:05] Kurds. The Kurds are an ethnic group, a [00:08] large ethnic group that lives partially [00:10] in Iran, partially in Iraq, partially in [00:12] Syria, some in Turkey, across that whole [00:15] region. They should have their own [00:18] country. They should have had it when [00:20] the Ottoman Empire fell apart a 100 [00:22] years ago and they were chopping up the [00:24] Middle East. But the Kurds themselves [00:26] couldn't get their act together at the [00:27] time and they were kind of cut out of [00:29] the division of the Middle East. And [00:31] ever since then, they've been living as [00:33] minorities and persecuted and you know [00:36] fighting against everybody but really [00:38] trying to get their own their own [00:40] independence. So right now they're [00:42] struggling against the Ashara regime in [00:44] Syria and they've got their issues with [00:47] you know with Turkey. Erdogan hates them [00:50] and meanwhile they have a significant [00:53] presence in Iraq and in northwest Iran [00:58] and this is all coming to a head right [01:00] now. So let's take a look at what is [01:02] happening with the Kurds. So here we go. [01:05] Drone strike hits Iranian Kurdish [01:07] opposition group in Iraq, wounding two. [01:10] A drone strike on an Iranian Kurdish [01:13] opposition group's base in Iraq's [01:15] Kurdistan. Iraq's Kurdistan wounded two [01:18] fighters. This attack highlights ongoing [01:20] tensions between Iran and militant [01:22] groups in the region. A drone struck an [01:25] arms depot in an attack at the [01:27] headquarters of an Iranian Kurdish [01:29] opposition group in the town of Decala [01:32] in Iraq's Kurdistan region on Wednesday. [01:35] Okay. Iran has long accused Iraq's [01:38] autonomous northern Kurdish region of [01:40] sheltering militant groups involved in [01:42] attacks against the Islamic Republic. [01:45] Okay. [01:47] So, um, let me explain this a little bit [01:50] more. So, I I mentioned this before the [01:52] war started. This is from February 23rd, [01:54] about 5 days before the war started. And [01:56] obviously, someone knew something was [01:58] going on. The Iranian Kurdish factions, [02:01] the Iranian Kurdish factions, five of [02:03] them, formed an alliance preparing [02:06] themselves to topple the Tehran [02:08] government, okay, if the opportunity [02:10] should present itself. and they signed [02:13] this agreement. In a joint statement [02:15] issued on Sunday, that was the Sunday [02:16] before the war, five organizations [02:18] declared the establishment of the [02:20] alliance of political forces in Iranian [02:23] Kurdistan, saying the move sink seeks to [02:26] strengthen Kurdish political influence [02:28] among what they described as a deep [02:30] legitimacy crisis facing the Islamic [02:34] Republic. And then it names the groups [02:36] and it says that their objective is the [02:38] struggle to overthrow the Islamic [02:40] Republic of Iran. and securing the [02:42] Kurdish people's right to [02:44] self-determination. So, what's happening [02:46] here is that in the leadup to the war [02:48] and now now that the war is on, the [02:51] Kurds see this the the potential fall of [02:53] the Iranian regime, which would also [02:56] mean Iranian influence in Iraq would be [03:00] out the window. And they see an [03:02] opportunity here with the US and Israel [03:04] playing a greater role. Israel has long [03:06] been a friend of the Kurds. They see an [03:09] opportunity to finally gain their [03:11] independence and they want to topple the [03:14] Iranian regime. But the Iranian Kurds [03:17] also kind of identify as Iranian and [03:19] might want to carve out their own [03:20] autonomous region in northwest Iran. And [03:23] this leaves open the question of whether [03:25] it's best that Iran remain one country [03:29] when all is said and done. When the dust [03:31] settles on this war, perhaps the Kurds [03:34] will have their own independence. They [03:36] certainly are going to be gunning for [03:38] it. No pun intended. Iran targets [03:41] Kurdistan region in Iraq. Seeks to make [03:44] it a war zone. Analysis. Okay, so this [03:46] is a piece of analysis done by u by the [03:50] great Seth Franceman. He knows more [03:51] about this region than anybody. Iran is [03:53] seeking to preempt any uprising by [03:55] Kurdish opposition groups in Iran by [03:58] striking at their bases in the Kurdistan [04:00] region of northern Iraq. This is a [04:01] report from yesterday. This is in the [04:03] middle of the war. So the Iranians have [04:05] been attacking Kurdish positions u in [04:08] the Kurdistan region in Iraq. So they've [04:11] been carrying out strikes in Iraq, but [04:12] that's not because they're attacking [04:14] Iraq. Okay, Iraq is a is as friendly a [04:18] as a country can be to Iran. It's mostly [04:20] Shiite and Iran ever since uh you know [04:24] 2003 or so. Iran has had a lot of [04:28] control over what goes on in Iraq. It's [04:31] not a total occupation and that's why [04:32] Israel has had freedom of movement [04:35] flying across Iraq on its way to attack [04:38] Iran. So, it's not like they're they're [04:40] fully set up there. But Iran has a lot [04:43] of freedom of operation in Iraq. And [04:44] they've been attacking the Kurds in [04:47] Iraq. This is part of Iran's attempt to [04:49] turn Iraq into a new abroad, which was [04:52] part of Russia's foreign policy. That's [04:54] a term that means that they're going to [04:55] create a new theater in a different [04:57] country that's going to keep uh the [04:59] conflict away from them. After the fall [05:02] of Saddam's regime in 2003, Iran has [05:04] begun to take over Iraq. [05:07] Okay? And and you have these Shiite [05:10] militias there that are aligned with [05:12] Iran. So [05:15] they've been attacking them now. They've [05:17] also been attacking [05:19] the Kurdish Iranian groups, meaning so [05:21] there's Kurdish groups in Iraq and [05:23] Kurdish groups in Iran. And the Iranians [05:26] are attacking both of them. Kurdish [05:27] Iranian opposition groups say Iran [05:29] targeted them in well in northern Iraq. [05:32] They were located there, but they claim [05:34] operations in Iran. Okay. Um so they're [05:39] they're getting ready. [05:42] And then from today we have the [05:43] following. Kurds in Mahabad stormed and [05:47] attacked the Iranian regime's prison. [05:51] Okay, the Iranian regime's prison guards [05:53] in Mahabad and managed to open the doors [05:55] of the large Mahabad prison. Right now, [05:58] all the prisoners have been released. [06:00] Some of them had execution orders. All [06:02] are now free. [06:04] Okay, that's in Mahabad in northwest [06:08] Iran. And then we also have this. The US [06:11] and Israeli jets. This is this is from [06:12] earlier today. US and Israeli jets [06:15] bombed Iranian regime positions in the [06:18] Kurdish city of Sardasht in Iran this [06:21] afternoon, Wednesday, March 4th. That's [06:24] just a few hours ago. The US and Israeli [06:26] jets bombing Iranian regime positions in [06:29] the Kurdish area in northwest Iran. So [06:32] here's an interesting escalation. This [06:35] isn't just that the Kurds are licking [06:38] their chops and getting ready to pick at [06:40] the carcass of the Iranian regime and [06:42] jump in when the opportunity presents [06:44] itself. We also see that the Israelis [06:47] and the Americans are helping them. [06:49] Okay, let's take a look at a map just so [06:51] we understand this. Okay, here is this [06:54] black line here is the border between [06:56] Iran and Iraq. Here's Airbill. Airbill [06:58] is in Iraq, but obviously very close to [07:01] Iran. and the airport and air bill was [07:04] bombed by the Iranian regime. Probably [07:06] now it becomes clear they didn't want it [07:08] to be used by the Kurds maybe also not [07:12] wanting it to be used by the Americans [07:13] although the Americans certainly have [07:15] many other ways of flying their jets [07:17] into Iran. Here this spot here this is [07:20] Sardasht where we see uh this um this [07:24] story took place where US and Israeli [07:26] jets bombed Iranian regime positions. So [07:29] look where the look where Sardash is. [07:30] It's literally right on the border [07:32] between Iraq and Iran. And the US and [07:34] the Israelis, they're not just bombing [07:36] IRGC sites and regime sites and and you [07:39] know, ballistic missile stores near [07:41] Thran in the middle of the country. You [07:43] see what they're doing here? They're [07:45] bombing border positions. Border [07:47] positions. This isn't about ballistic [07:49] missiles or nuclear sites. They're [07:51] bombing regime sites in in a town like [07:54] this, which is right on the border. [07:58] Okay? They're doing that to lay the [08:01] groundwork obviously for a ground [08:04] operation. Otherwise, why do you care if [08:06] you're only fighting a war from the air? [08:08] You don't really care if you have if [08:10] they have positions right near the [08:11] border. And Mahabad, where that prison [08:13] was, is right here, right? It's right [08:16] next to this place. They're about a [08:17] two-hour drive away. So, we have this [08:20] uprising in the prison where the Kurdish [08:22] prisoners uh break out of the prison and [08:25] are all free. And we have this Kurdish [08:28] area here where the Iranian positions [08:30] are now getting bombed by the Israelis [08:32] and the Americans. And this all [08:34] dovetales well with this story from [08:36] Reuters. US Kurds discuss potential Iran [08:40] military operation. Sources say a very [08:43] important source of bombshell uh story [08:45] everyone's talking about. Iranian [08:47] Kurdish militias have consulted with the [08:49] United States in recent days about [08:52] whether and how to attack Iran's [08:54] security forces in the western part of [08:56] the country. According to three sources [08:58] with knowledge of the matter, the [09:00] Iranian Kurdish coalition of groups [09:02] based on the Iran Iraq border, that's [09:04] that area I just showed you, is in the [09:08] semi-autonomous region of Iraqi [09:10] Kurdistan, has been training to mount [09:12] such an attack in the hopes of weakening [09:14] the country's military as the United [09:17] States and Israel pound Iranian targets [09:19] with bombs and missiles. The goal would [09:22] be to create room for Iranians opposed [09:25] to the Islamic regime to rise up now [09:27] that Kami is dead and the other guys are [09:29] dead. [09:31] Um, and they've requested US military [09:33] support. Okay. And here we see a a more [09:37] detailed account from the Kurdish uh [09:40] Twitter account Bin Kurdistani. This is [09:42] a a journal a a Kurdish journalist. A [09:45] US-Israeli background operation in Iran [09:48] is set to start in days. A USIsraeli [09:50] backed ground operation in Iran carried [09:52] out by Iranian Kurdish forces is [09:55] expected to commence in the coming days. [09:57] A senior Iranian Kurdish official has [09:59] stated thousands of Iranian Kurdish [10:01] troops are positioned along the border [10:03] with Iraq predominantly in Iraq's [10:05] Kurdistan region. Right. So they're [10:07] right here along the border with Iraq in [10:11] this Kurdistan region. You have these [10:13] guys ready and waiting. And meanwhile, [10:15] you have reports of the US and Israel [10:17] bombing the Iranian positions on this [10:19] side, basically opening the door for [10:22] this ground operation. [10:25] The official indicated that the [10:26] opposition forces anticipate significant [10:29] support from both the US and Israel for [10:31] the planned operation. Sources familiar [10:33] with the plan revealed that the CIA is [10:35] working to arm Kurdish forces within [10:37] Iran, aiming to instigate a popular [10:40] uprising. This development occurs amidst [10:42] an expanding conflict which has seen an [10:44] Israeli F-35 fighter jet down an Iranian [10:47] war plane. That's not really relevant. [10:48] Okay, great. And a slightly expanded [10:52] account of the Reuters story. It was [10:54] built on the Reuters story. US in talks [10:55] with Iranian Kurds on potential CIA [10:58] backed OP for uprising say sources and [11:00] it quotes the Reuters piece. And then it [11:04] says down here, [11:08] CNN was the first to report on the CIA's [11:11] involvement with the groups and the [11:12] potential ground operation. Axio said [11:14] this week that US President Donald Trump [11:16] held a telephone call with two of Iraqi [11:20] Kurdistan's top leaders and that that [11:22] happened apparently on Sunday, a couple [11:23] days ago. According to CNN, Kurdish [11:25] forces have thousands of our members in [11:27] the border region and they have been [11:30] hinting that they are about to take [11:32] action. The CIA, of course, declined to [11:35] comment. Any operation from Iraq would [11:38] probably require significant significant [11:40] US military and intelligence support. [11:44] The Pentagon says the two US bases in [11:47] Bill have supported the international [11:49] coalition fighting ISIS terrorists. [11:53] Okay. And the Kurdish groups have a long [11:54] history of working with the Americans. [11:56] So that you have US bases right around [11:57] air bill. You have the Kurdish forces al [12:01] now massing on this border. And you have [12:04] the and you have the prison breakout in [12:07] Mahabad. And you have the US and Israel [12:09] bombing Iranian border positions, [12:13] Iranian regime positions here, all [12:14] setting the stage for what's going to [12:16] look like a ground operation coming from [12:19] the Kurds into northwest Iran. Okay, a [12:23] very important development. There are so [12:25] many different uh you know different [12:28] plot lines going on in this war and I'm [12:30] trying to keep a breast of them and [12:31] that's what I'm trying to do with these [12:33] updates. So, I hope this is helpful. [12:35] Please make sure to check out a new [12:37] video we just dropped on the Israel 365 [12:41] News YouTube channel which talks about [12:43] the implications of the Iran war on US [12:48] China relations or really on the on the [12:50] struggle the power struggle between the [12:53] US and the Chinese Communist Party. Uh I [12:55] think it's an important video. We just [12:56] posted it today. Have a look at that and [12:59] uh thanks for watching. And God bless.
